“We had the good fortune of working with Mary on the Versailles, a substantial renovation of an historic Beaux Arts style 113-unit apartment building steps from Rittenhouse Square. Built in 1921, the Versailles required a complete overhaul of the building systems, as well as a gut renovation of the existing units. Additionally, unused spaces in the basement and on the 16th floor, were transformed into modern day amenities.
Mary’s creativity and practicality were vital to the success of the project. She was able to design around challenging existing conditions to create modern living spaces, while staying true to the historic elegance of the building. Mary also proved adept at navigating the permitting process, working through complexities in the building code and historic restrictions. We are grateful for her hard work and perseverance on this important project.
The Versailles was recognized by the National Association of Home Builders, winning a 2017 Pillars of Industry award for Best Repositioning of a Multi-Family Asset. The Versailles also won a 2017 Grand Jury award from the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.”
